Mock Trial needs volunteers to serve as presiding and scoring judges. Morning judges are asked to arrive to the courthouse no later than 7:30 a.m. with rounds beginning at approximately 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Afternoon judges are asked to arrive by 12:30 p.m. with rounds starting at approximately 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Kansas High School Mock Trial Regional Competitions - Saturday, February 21. The Regional competitions will be held in:
Sedgwick County Courthouse at 525 N Main, Wichita, KS 67203 and
Wyandotte County Courthouse at 710th St Trfy #210, Kansas City, KS 66101
Kansas High School Mock Trial State Competition - Saturday, March 28. The State competition will be held at Shawnee County Courthouse at 200 SE 7th St., Topeka, KS 66603.
Morning Rounds start at 8:00 a.m.
Afternoon Rounds start at 1:00 p.m.
Volunteer Judges should attend the Judge Q&A Zoom Session held on February 18 at 1:00 p.m. MockTrial@ksbar.org will send you the Zoom link to attend this meeting.
All physical materials (ballots and scoring instructions) will be available for all judges at the courthouses day-of competition. Volunteer judges should arrive 30 minutes before rounds begin so get materials, grab refreshments, and find assigned room.
Volunteers will be provided food and drink and outside food and drink is also allowed. All rounds should be completed by 6:00 p.m. at the latest, and an award ceremony will follow for those interested in seeing the outcome of the competition.
