Chief Judge Glenn Braun, Hays, will retire on January 13 after serving 12 ½ years in the 23^rd Judicial District. The 23rd Judicial District is composed of Ellis, Gove, Rooks, and Trego counties. Braun was appointed as a district judge in 2012 and has served as chief judge since 2016. Braun graduated from Kansas State University and Washburn University School of Law. He was in private practice from 1981 to 2012 and served as Ellis County attorney from 1989 to 1997. He also served on the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission from 2005to 2012. He is a past president of the Kansas Bar Association.
