Kansas Bar Foundation Seeks Grant Applicants for 2006-07
Grant application deadline extended

(November 29, 2005) Topeka, KS—The Kansas Bar Foundation (KBF), a charitable, non-profit corporation, is presently seeking grant applications for the 2006-07 grant year.

The deadline to submit grant requests has been extended to Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, due to a lack of grant applications received. Grants will be announced in February 2006. To be eligible, applicants must be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.

To request a grant packet, please contact the Foundation at (785) 234-5696. Information is also available at www.ksbar.org/public/kbf/packet.shtml.

“The Kansas Bar Foundation, through its IOLTA program, has provided almost $950,000 in grants since 2000,” said H. David Starkey, KBF President. “Grants have been awarded for support of legal services to the disadvantaged, public education about the law, and administration of justice programs.”

“The Foundation encourages applicants statewide to apply for grants in order to better serve all of the residents of Kansas,” said Starkey.

The Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Account (IOLTA) Program was established as a funding source for law-related, charitable public service projects and was approved by the Kansas Supreme Court in 1984.
